Mine started when they sold me a car that was STOLEN. Yes, you read that right, the car was stolen.

I would never had known this had my vehicle not needed to go immediately to the dealer to fix the driver seat (apparently, CarMax didn't check to see it that worked).
I really loved the vehicle make and model, so I agreed to let them get another one...10 days later I had a new vehicle. It had all the same features and 10K less miles. The fact it had less miles was enough of a deal for CarMax that they would not do anything else to make me a satisfied customer. They simply provided me the car I wanted in the first place.

One way you would think you could protect yourself is to run a CARFAX (not related company). They profess to have information on stolen or damaged cars. I ran their report. Car came out clean. They're as bad as CARMAX. "It's not our fault the state's DMV doesn't show it as stolen". Does no one understand the VIN number on this vehicle isn't a legitimate GMC VIN number? Apparantley CARFAX and CARMAX both went to the same customer service training...NONE.
Bottom Line - You can't trust all reports from CARFAX. Buy at your own risk.
